Could Your Personal Style be Losing You Opportunities?

10 / 2 / 16 12 / 23 / 17

How are you from the last time you read my blog?

If you are new, welcome to my blog!

Today’s post is all about knowing and creating your personal style and allowing it to reflect your brand without saying much to your prospective as well as current clients. What am I referring to? I will let Luisa talk some more about this.

We are a society who as a whole is lured into spending our money, time and interest on everything that is visually attractive. How many times have you been blown away by luxury packaging?

Can you count the times you’ve wanted to buy an item that was more pleasing to the eye than its mediocre counterpart? How important is your personal appearance and could you be losing opportunities by not investing time and effort into maintaining your very own presentable style?

This got me thinking about the importance of style and personal image, not only for visual purposes but in order to help you present yourself to the best of your ability in both your business and personal life.

Don’t forget to check the sidebar and footer of this website for awesome resources!

personal style

Are you hiding behind a required suit?

For some job roles, you may be required to dress in a certain way or meet a certain level of dress code. In some cases when a job role doesn’t require such, some service providers come to the conclusion that if there are no strict rules for their work wear, they don’t need to focus on their presentation skills either.

The truth is that even if your job role requires you to wear a suit every day, it doesn’t instantly guarantee that you will look smart and be able to present yourself and your company in the right way. After all, it isn’t what you wear – it’s how you wear it! I’ve met so many females who struggle to dress for business.

Your personal style needs to start dressing for success!

So you are trying your best to stay well clear of jeans, you often drag out an ill-fitting suit in an unflattering colour from decades ago, or you may end up looking like a child who has raided your parents’ wardrobe by wearing clothing that is far too old for you.

Other issues that I’ve experienced – a very common one actually, is business people who hide behind their visual branding and feel as though they are the “let down” if/when they come to meet with clients and business partners in person.”

It is easy to hide behind amazing branding online, but at some point, your clients have to deal with you and if you feel as though you lack style and presentation skills then your client will see that too!

Your business branding (i.e. your business cards, logo, posters and web design etc.) is very important for your business but no matter how good your business branding and other business tools are, you cannot get away with being the “mediocre part of your business.”

You should never overlook the fact that you (and only you) are the best possible tool in your business so you need to work that to your advantage. You are the face of your business and let’s be honest, it’s always better for every face to belong to a happy, pleasant looking person that appears confident and comfortable when you see them!

Stand out from the crowd and claim your personal style!

I’m not just a stylist who knows about the important of style in business; I am living proof that a solid personal brand has the ability to take your business to wherever you want it to go.

If you’re struggling to get your head around all of this, think of “bad style and poor personal branding” as a big, ugly spot on your face that you can’t disguise. It would knock your confidence when meeting new people and when trying to talk business, it might prevent you from looking and feeling your best thus, you are unable to present yourself in the way you’d hoped.

When you look your personal best, you feel amazing about yourself and when that happens, that transcends across every aspect of your life, including through your communication and presentation skills!

Style doesn’t have to be expensive, cruel, unethical or uncomfortable. Some of my most favoured looks have been outfits that have cost no more than £10 – but appear as though they’ve cost far more! Don’t confuse style with dressing up!

Dressing up means adapting an appearance that isn’t usually you and that can be difficult to pull off every day. Few of us have hours to spend on our appearances, so we try to focus on what you can achieve in a short space of time.

Let me help you dress better and find colours and styles that suit you for your next business engagement.

Erase these mistakes from your blog using this free app!

9 / 22 / 16 6 / 1 / 18

How are you from the last time you read my blog?

If you are new, welcome to my blog!

◊This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.◊

Have this FREE app on your browser and you will never make a mistake again!

Don’t forget to check the sidebar and footer of this website for awesome resources!

free app to use on blog

Today I wanted to share my tool of the month with you. So take a seat, get that coffee or wine and let me talk some more about this pick. This is Grammarly.

Now, why do I like this FREE app? From the moment my computer starts, I make sure that Grammarly is in place to help me as a second pair of eyes for when I need to send off those emails, even when I am creating content for my blog.

This does not eliminate receiving a second opinion from another human being, but this does come in handy when you are a fashionista on a budget. I have this app installed on my browser to help me out with my grammar.

1-2-3 easy steps to use this FREE app on your blog and or social sites.

Now let me show you a step by step on how I use Grammarly. Now it’s easier to add this plugin to your chrome browser if you are using this browser. Another feature that I like with Grammarly is that once you install this app on your browser (namely Google) you are able to see a pop up from the sites you are visiting.

So let’s say that you are browsing your social media channels and you are making a post, once the errors are there, you will see the pop-up that comes up that allows you to correct these errors.

Grammarly Writing Support

This helps whenever you are visiting any sites. From you start composing a message you are able to see a pop-up of how to correct miss-spelled words or to add in and correct those grammatical errors.

Now I am not so good with my grammar so you can imagine how this is a lifesaver when you have to attend to clients work or sending out a simple email or reminder.

Get your Grammarly stamp of approval.

The good thing about this free app is that you do not necessarily have to log in to your account to create a new post for it to be corrected. Another benefit of having this app on your browser is let’s say you want to make a blog post, you can sign into your Grammarly account and create a new document.

On the free version, when you open a document from the dashboard of Grammarly you are able to get your entire document edited but once there are critical issues to be updated the premium version is a must if you do not want to hire an editor at this time.

Grammarly will erase these mistakes on your blog post!

This also helps when you are creating a post and a prompt is given to make corrections, this can include, from updating your sentence structure correctly or a phrase. Once you are done and you are satisfied with your blog post you can copy and paste the corrected document and paste it into your preferred platform.

The #1 Writing Tool

Grammarly also allows you to add your own words which might not be recognized from their directory. The good thing about it is that you are able to have this word used over and over again without it being picked up as misspelled.

I love the fact that this small but powerful plugin is my extra pair of eyes for looking out for those grammatical errors. This is a must-have for any individual, whether you are in business or not, in school or a writer I do recommend Grammarly because it does check and keep your grammar in place.

It was nice of you to stop by.

Until then, happy hiring, and best wishes with your business.

Learn more about your ideal client with these fashionable steps!

9 / 4 / 16 12 / 23 / 17

How are you from the last time you read my blog?

If you are new, welcome to my blog!

Today’s post is all about knowing about your ideal client and how to speak the language of your ideal client. I will let Kristen talk some more about this.

You spend hours on your fashion blog. Slaving away creating fashion mood boards, applying the perfect filter to your images, and getting everything into order. But your page views stay low. What gives?

Don’t forget to check the sidebar and footer of this website for awesome resources!

learn your ideal clients

If you’re putting the work in, but your blog isn’t growing – don’t give up. You just might not be talking to your dream client.

To put it into fashion terms, your reader is likely to either be a Chanel girl, or a Free People girl. If you’re talking to the boho crowd while a glam audience is visiting your blog, they’re not going to connect.

How often do you actively think about who your audience is, and what that means for your blog?

Not convinced? Here’s why you need to know your dream client.

You’re not just blogging for your health, right? You want to build a community. Maybe even make money from it. Whether you’re planning on relying on ads, sponsored posts, or creating products, you need the right audience to come across it. Let’s face it – tips about how to look chic on an H&M budget aren’t going to appeal to a crowd that is solely interested in the most elite of high fashion.

Forget spending all day in Facebook groups. Would you rather spend all day on social media or have the right audience showing up on your blog all by themselves? Once you know your audience’s needs, you can give them exactly what they want – the right blog posts, the style of image, tips, and tricks…everything that they’re already searching for – everything that will bring them to your blog.

You can speak your audience’s love language and know how just what will light them up, get them excited, and get them sharing your posts.

To appeal to your dream client, make sure your content (blog posts, social, webinars, everything!) answers the following questions:

– What information does my dream client want to know?
– What is my dream client most interested in?
– What tips and tricks would make her fashion world easier?
– What can I create that will keep bringing her back?

You can keep your readers talking and talking.

Remember that talk about building a community? Think about the blogs you follow the most – you feel as if you have a relationship with the blogger like you know them. You can do the same thing. Create a relationship with your dream client by making them familiar with your voice – and your expertise. The more they associate you with your niche, great! Maybe you’re the go-to place for styling thrift store pieces. Maybe you’ve got a gift for what to wear to fancy events on a budget. Whatever you’re passionate about, own it.

Create the right stuff.

(If you’re singing New Kids On The Block right now, you’re not alone.) Ready to create classes or write an ebook? Maybe you want to do 1 on 1 work with someone to help them create their ideal closet. Whatever you’re considering, it’ll only sell if you’re selling it to the right clients.

How do you figure out who your dream client is?

The biggest question I get is: Can I just make it up? One word honey: no. You don’t want an imaginary audience. You want a real audience.

The best way is to start with what you do best, and then figure out who is interested in that. Who can you help the most?

If you already have an audience, ask them! You’ll get the best answers from a real person – pay attention to the words they use to describe why they love you. After all, you want to make sure you’re speaking the same language.

At a minimum, you want to answer the following questions:

  • age
  • why she’s interested in what you do
  • what problem she has that you can solve
  • what social media she uses
  • where she likes to hang out online

Still struggling? It’s okay – you don’t have to know everything about your dream client overnight. If you need a little help, pay a visit to Dream Client Clarity to get extra clear. In three days, you’ll be able to tell the world who your dream client is, what they need from you, and how you can make their life a LOT easier.

Once you know who the right audience is, it’s way easier to attract in your dream client. You can even start doing it with what you’re already doing with a slight twist. Sharing your blog posts on social media? Think about what will get your dream client interested enough to click – are you solving a problem of hers? Explain it in the post!

Can you describe your dream client in three sentences or less? Here’s mine for inspiration: I work with creative + spiritual female entrepreneurs who are looking to take their blog and business to the next step. She may not know a business, but she knows how to run a blog. She’s looking for easy to understand actions she can take to make a serious difference in her business.

I’d love to hear about your dream client – let’s start a conversation and leave your comments below!

Love is her thing – dream client love that is. Her special mojo is attracting dream clients to you + strategizing content to make you their number one #bizcrush.
