How to become successful in your industry, once it’s online!

12 / 15 / 16 1 / 30 / 18

How are you from the last time you read my blog?

If you are new, welcome to my blog!

Some people have been tremendously supportive on my journey to becoming successful online, and so I wanted to share some of these lessons I have learned. I have put together 10 tips that you can use in your industry for you to be successful as well.

Don’t forget to check the sidebar and footer of this website for awesome resources!

recommended online successful tips

Tips I have learned over the course of my journey to get your business going.

♥ When you are branding your business, make sure all platforms have the same font size, colour, images as well as the same theme across all social media platforms.

♥ If you prefer to use a particular social media platform use 3 that you mainly want to focus on and divide each with about 30 minutes of your time engaging with prospects and sharing content. Another useful tip is to always be mostly engaged on off-peak times.

♥ If you do not have a website, you can create a Facebook business page, start putting yourself out there by adding value and not to spam other person’s group. No matter if you are in the fashion or coaching industry when you decide to invest in a website, WordPress is the way to go. It’s ranking with being found on Google is far way better than the other platforms, and it’s free.

♥ If you are going to do an AD, make sure you have an opt-in for your ideal clients and before the opt-in, make sure you have an autoresponder to build your list.

♥ Whether you blog, share or nowhere to be seen, get yourself out there by giving value, even though this may be similar to number 2. You can start off by writing and sharing your expertise this can be done by way of video, using the social media platforms that offer you to record yourself doing a tutorial such as Periscope, or even a simple video tip. Whichever way, it’s always best to let others know you are an expert, even if you think no one is looking. When the time is right, you will appreciate that you have started somewhere.

♥ Don’t sell your services or products to prospective clients on the first meeting. When you decide to do so is entirely up to you, but I would have hated if each time I came across you, I was being pitched to. Show them you care and add value and benefit by being outside of the box. Being helpful and supportive goes a long way, more so than making a quick buck. It’s better to build relationships than services.

♥ Just because your business is online does not mean that your services/products will have to be online. Get yourself out there and network with others in your industry, even with those who are your ideal clients. “Building relationships here again”.

♥ Sharing is caring; you do not have to limit yourself to only being an expert in your industry if your clients can benefit from another service that someone you know offers; you can mention this in a post or even allow that person to guest post on your blog.

♥ Always be in a supportive group where you can learn and grow in your industry. Chances are, you are the only one in your family at present who is working online. Even though your family might get this, they do not understand its entirety. It’s always a great idea to be in a group or community with others who are experiencing the same issues as you are. Don’t be afraid to share, as you might inspire someone who was on your journey a year ago, also learning new trends and courses are always essential to be successful in this business.

♥ Lastly, self-care, you would have thought that this will be the first one for you, but I know you are always taking care of others and you are last on the list, but yet you know that if you do not take care of you, you will suffer, the business will suffer, the household will suffer…we can go on and on with this but it’s best in the beginning of your business to start scheduling those days for you, whether it will mean that on Mondays you will go to the hairdresser to do you, do it with no hesitation.

It was nice of you to stop by.

Until then, happy hiring, and best wishes with your business.

Why branding is important to a Fashionista!

12 / 4 / 16 12 / 23 / 17

How are you from the last time you read my blog?

If you are new, welcome to my blog!

Today’s guest post is all about branding your fashion business to reflect you and your personality. What am I referring to? I will let Maria talk some more about this.

What is branding? What defines a good branding? What does it mean to build up your brand? Those are questions that every fashionista entrepreneur, company or even a tiny kid who wants to sell lemonade should put each time before they start selling – or just existing!

Brand your fashion business base on you!

Let’s put it this way: have you ever thought about yourself and what personality type are you? I am not talking about those concrete stereotypes of personalities; I am talking about

I am talking about the way you are, you behave towards you and the people around you, at last, but not least, the way that you feel towards anything.

Basically, the personality you gained within years. The thing that your family or friends are thinking about when it comes to you: “Ah, look at those flowers, Sally would totally love them!”, ‘This is such a good song! I bet Janet would dance on it!’, ‘Look at this dress! Tiffany would adore it!’’. Get me now?

Yes, so I am talking the things that define you truly. But this is strictly on a personal level. Now, let’s talk on a purely professional level. What is that thing that makes you visible, makes the customers think of you? And when I say you I am talking about you as someone who’s running a business. Ring a bell? Let me tell you. Have you ever thought that branding is the personality of the professional life? Just think about it!

What if the flowers that Sally would have like would actually transform to “Look at those superb flowers! Their arrangement reminds me of the way Sally does them!”. Or how would you put the song situation? “This song reminds me of one song that once Janet sang to me!”. Or how about the dress? “Wow, this dress’ design is similar to the one Tiffany made for my sister!”.

learn how to brand your fashion business

Your fashion business should go hand in hand with your branding.

Personality makes us unique – our behaviors, flavors, the way we love, feel and all, everything makes us the way we are, especially towards the people near us. And this is how a brand comes to life.

So, you have an idea you are absolutely dying to put it in practice, but something stops you, or not. The thing is that you just can’t see it, that image that reflects your idea. It can be a product, or just a service, a book, or a song. But you need something that gives that thing you are going to promote something unique. And that, my lovelies, is the birth of “How can I find what represents me?”.

Yes, it is indeed hard to reflect upon the thing that represents you when it comes to your future business. It can be an online business, an offline one, or you can just sell some flowers! It doesn’t matter. Remember how people use to think about you when they saw something?

Now it’s your turn to make them think about the thing you are giving the thing that is made by you. But let’s go back to practice. What makes a good branding? There are indeed some factors that must be taken into consideration every time you start to think about creating something that makes you unique, and memorable. And those are personality, symmetry and the industry.

Fashionista you should use your personality, symmetry, and your industry in your fashion business.

The way our personality goes within the product that makes our brand work. If you are a serious, professional, and on the other hand providing social media strategy, you should probably go for a cold color.

If you are very funny, lovable, impulsive, and still, providing the same services – You should probably go for something more colorful than only just one color!

Are you very fashion orientated, obsessed with trends, and selling the same services, the social media strategy, you should probably go pink and mauve. Or maybe you are a ghostwriter, but for fashion magazines – but you are a bit way too professional – again maybe something blue-ish. Get me?

Basically, the color you choose for your brand reflects the way we are.

Something that is symmetric makes the eye want more and more. It’s an eye-candy. If I go to your website and I see that your designs were made only without your personality and without eye-pleasure, I would sure leave immediately! Of course, maybe you don’t have the skills to build a website, but there are lots of people who can help. You can always talk, communicate with graphic or web designers. It CAN be done, but only if you are open enough.

Each industry or sub-industry has his or her color. The color can also be combined with the one formed from your personality. Medicine has blue. But you also are a pediatrician – obviously, you love children, which, sometimes, this makes you a fun and loving person, and this means a warm color. And there you have it, blue and warm. It can be something bright, it can also be something blue-ish and colorful combined.

Something that makes the audience feel good about it – the children. Don’t be too cold, don’t scare them. Make them feel safe around the service you provide. And here comes the branding. Do you see its importance?

So yes, those are some of the essential keys on which you should focus when creating your own brand. Just clear your mind, take a paper and a pen, and try to think what will work for you.

Even though she is still offering VA services at the moment, she is preparing to move her business to a new level: building courses and teaching creative entrepreneurs how to launch themselves, using both business strategies and counseling based on the personality development and awareness.

4 common misconceptions in the Virtual Assistant industry

12 / 1 / 16 6 / 15 / 18

How are you from the last time you read my blog?

If you are new, welcome to my blog!

As an online business owner, it can become overwhelming for business owners to find and research the right virtual assistant.

Once you have found the right fit, it’s always encouraging to ask in-depth questions, policies and what a VA will and will not do. Here is a link to the most FAQ questions that have already been asked about hiring your first virtual assistant.

But on the other hand, because you might be familiar with working from the 9-5 and transitioning, you might think that a virtual assistant will have the same mindset and work from the same platform that you were in.

misconceptions in the virtual assistant industry

Here I have summarized some misconceptions of what a virtual assistant will not do:

  • Walk your dog
  • Be on call when your house is a mess
  • Paint your house
  • Be your babysitter

I sure hope I got some laughs on some of these things that a VA will not do. But on the serious side of things, I will elaborate some more on some misconceptions in the VA industry and this may spill over into other online industries.

A Virtual Assistant is an employee

So many times, you might think because you are outsourcing for a specific task that you can dictate what is expected and set the hours and payment for the person you are hiring.

This is not the case because a virtual assistant is a home-based, independent contractor, he/she normally sets their prices, their hours to complete a specific task, as well as manage his or her own insurance, as well as taxes.

A Virtual Assistant should provide a Resume’

Now that you are comfortable with finding a VA for your business, you are now at the next stage for hiring and would want a VA to provide his/her Resume.

Remember that because a VA is an independent contractor that the best sorts of reference that a VA will and should always provide are their testimonials from past clients or references.

A Virtual Assistant is a jack-of-all-trades

You have finalized working with a VA and you have explained the tasks that you will need him/her to complete, you have suddenly realized that because your VA is so wonderful they can do this additional task.

There are many VA’s who specialize in many industries, some might be even happy to learn and complete this task for you, but, if not, chances are that a VA will know someone who can complete that task for you.

Please do not ask your VA to do such a task and then penalize him/her with words such as “if you can do this, I will give you additional money” or “testimonial” while this might be great, some VA’s might not specialize in the task that you have outlined so it’s good to find another VA who has the knowledge and expertise of the task that you are outsourcing.

A Virtual Assistant will work on your hours

Although this might be somewhat true in some cases. A virtual assistant might work hourly, set packages and even on retainers, but it’s always best practice to work with those VA’s who can accommodate with working on your schedule.

In some instances, a virtual assistant will set the timeframe for a task to be completed and when to deliver such a task to you.

Now that you have seen some of the misconceptions about the virtual assistant industry, this might be happening in your industry. Feel free to comment on some misconceptions in your industry.

It was nice of you to stop by.

Until then, happy hiring, and best wishes with your business.
